Yet the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors describes ‘rising damp’ as a myth. Following an introduction from the Building Management Company, Simon James Lewis – Neighbourhood Construction CIC has been invited to ascertain the probable causes of a number of moisture-related symptoms being experienced at the property.

Following a ‘first fit’ electrical installation, undertaken by an electrical contracting company, it was noted that work was incomplete and not as per the original specification. Further observations note the work has not been completed with due diligence and much of the work is not fit for purpose and amendments are required to accommodate the successful application of lime plaster.
